Going Ape

I came across this, er, statue in front of an house in Mediamae last weekend while on my way to a Tesco Express store I'd been told about. I don't have have the slightest clue what it's about, nor even a halfway plausible theory.

Hey, Cal, this is a statue of the Lawgiver from "Planet of the Apes", specifically the last movie in the series, "Battle for the Planet of the Apes". He is the Confucius of the ape civilization. Google it and find out more.

The one in your photo looks like a good replica, however. Wonder if it was made in Japan by some crazed Planet of the Apes fan.
