Years ago, the San Francisco Chronicle used run a daily feature spotlighting one bit of foreign news. It was entitled "CITY is Talking About…", with the story being a small slice of life or event illuminating life there -- the taste for cognac in Hong Kong, some local political scandal in Italy, whatever.
I liked this feature, and I would read it every day. The World, illuminated through little slices. This is my attempt to reproduce that.
